There are definite milestones that show that a child is acquiring the ability to communicate their needs. Babies begin to babble at a young age and point to objects and people. Toddlers add to their vocabulary. Older children begin to string sentences together. Speech therapy can remedy delays in obtaining these abilities or help those with intellectual or motor disabilities embrace new skills.
Feeding therapy helps children with feeding difficulties learn how to eat or eat more easily. A varied diet is needed for good growth and nutrition, but some children don’t tolerate all the textures and flavors. Other children struggle with the mechanics of swallowing. Our Feeding Lab enables us to help children enjoy mealtimes.
